In a world so often corrupted by wars and darkened by terrible acts in the name of perverted philosophies, occasionally a ray of light shines through the abyss of hatred and intolerance to remind you that life is not all bad news.
Sometimes, the tiny shafts of illumination come in a form so unexpected, yet so obvious, that they simply take your breath away. The following gem came to me from a friend, and I felt compelled to pass it on:

Thanks for this post! It’s a wonderful reminder to be grateful for the little wonders in everyday life that are so easily overlooked. (We will temporarily suspend our sense of smell because I just burned some muffins, but it will mean that we will make good use of our sense of humor…)

Agree smell is a bit “iffy” (sniffy?) but, Hey, it’s the others that make you feel alive!

Well this is a warm post, and I’m glad taste was mentioned, after all, food alone is a good enough reason to be alive. I’m surprised dishes never make these seven wonders lists. I’ve had a few meals that would beat any trip to see the Empire State Building . . .
