‘So there was no betrayal; the child was conceived before we were together. But I feel betrayed all the same, remembering how we were: our first kiss; the day we made love in the vineyard.’ [Nicole – The Sweetest Lie]
‘Resistance is futile. Eight months ago, my life was uncomplicated. I was with Nicole and had no regrets …. Then, last Christmas, in a bizarre twist of fate, Margie walked back into my life. She had a child ….’ [Andy – The Sweetest Lie]
The Sweetest Lie

My new novel, The Sweetest Lie, will be released tomorrow as a paperback and an e-book, completing the Fields of Wine trilogy which began in 2018 with Sweeter Than Wine. This was followed by Sweet Entanglement in 2021.
Follow Nicole on the next stage of the life journey she began in Bordeaux three years ago –
As well as facing the challenges of her final year as an undergraduate in Edinburgh, Nicole, now 23, must come to terms with what she regards as a betrayal, and acknowledge the inevitability of her feelings for her charming Australian tutor, Lex McLaren. But will the University allow her to go there? In any case, can she really let Andy go?
‘I leap into his arms, my hands weaving through his soft hair, my mouth searching for his. To my delight, he responds. His lips meet mine in a sweet kiss. They brush my brow, my eyelids, my ears and my neck before returning at last to my mouth, firmer now and more demanding. I don’t know how long the kiss lasts, but when we finally break, I feel the night air, cold through my stockinged legs and feet, and the dampness of passion on my throat and thighs.’
The paperback of The Sweetest Lie will go on sale at Amazon on May 29th. The ebook, price £3.99 (US$5.30), is already available to pre-order at several digital stores. The current links are shown below. It will be available at others including Smashwords, Gardners and Tolino on publication date.
